Somatic Kriya

The process of remembering that you are a soul having a human experience, awakening your inner light and powering others through it.

Breath. Movement. Sensation. Presence.

Somatic Kriya is an embodied practice that brings together breath, movement, awareness, sound and sensation to invite a deeper relationship with the body.

Rather than approaching movement as something to perform or perfect, Somatic Kriya asks us to listen from within.

What is happening in my body right now?

Where am I holding?

Where is there movement?

What wants more space?

What changes when I stop controlling the experience and begin listening to it?

"In front of a calm mind the whole universe surrenders"

What Is Somatic Kriya?

Kriya can be understood as action or movement.

Within my work, Somatic Kriya becomes a practice of conscious embodied action, using movement and breath as pathways into sensation, awareness and expression.

The practice may move between structured sequences and more intuitive movement, allowing you to notice the difference between moving from instruction and moving from what you actually feel.

Breath may deepen.

The body may shake or become still.

Sound may arise.

Emotion may surface.

Energy may increase or settle.

Nothing needs to happen.

The intention is not to manufacture an experience, but to remain curious about what the body communicates when we give it our attention.

A Somatic Kriya experience may weave together:

– Conscious and rhythmic breathing
– Repetitive and intuitive movement
– Dynamic somatic meditation
– Shaking and natural impulses
– Sound and vocal expression
– Body and sensory awareness
– Grounding and orienting
– Moments of activation
– Moments of stillness
– Rest and integration

Practices are offered as invitations rather than demands.

You are encouraged to adjust, pause, slow down or stop according to what you are experiencing.

Moving With Awareness

Somatic Kriya is not about pushing through discomfort or reaching a particular state.

The Practice

Intensity is not the goal.

The practice develops our capacity to notice ourselves while we are moving through an experience.

Can I feel when enough is enough?

Can I recognise when I want more?

Can I stay connected to my breath?

Can I allow movement without needing to understand it?

Can I stop when my body asks me to stop?

This transforms movement itself into a practice of choice, agency and embodied listening.

Who Is Somatic Kriya For?

You do not need previous experience with yoga, meditation, breathwork or somatic practice.

You do not need to be flexible.

You do not need to know how to move.

There is no choreography to master and no correct experience to achieve.

Somatic Kriya is for anyone curious about experiencing a deeper relationship with their body through breath, movement and presence.

It can be experienced within individual sessions, workshops, retreats and group Somatic Activations.

The Invitation

The body is constantly communicating.

Somatic Kriya creates a space where we become quiet enough, and sometimes move enough, to hear it.

Move without performing.
Breathe without forcing.
Feel without needing to explain.
Listen without immediately trying to change what you find.
